Lisa Hodsoll was born in Brussels, Belgium to American parents and has lived most of her life in the United States. Buffurducken is her first directorial feature. The film started as a play that she wrote, Turducken. It was produced as part of the Baltimore Playwright’s Festival. She then rewrote it as a screenplay and it was produced with the support of WednesdayHouse, a not for profit arts organization in Baltimore, that she co-founded with Andreas Pascal Waidacher.
Other writing credits include but are not limited to co-writing Kosmopolites, another production of WednesdayHouse and currently in post production, and Erasmus, a finalist of the Mildred and Albert Panowski Playwriting Award
